An
approval is required to conduct a direct award as allowed for under
Section 14.1 of the County Council's Procurement Rules for the
provision of archaeology investigation to Oxford Archaeology.
Oxford Archaeology worked on the A582 dualing archaeology
investigation that was paused. The proposed works on Croston Road
and Stanifield Lane junctions requires an archaeology investigation

dualing.
Content
Niamh O'Sullivan, Planning Delivery Team
Leader, took a decision to conduct a direct award as allowed for
under Section 14.1 of the County Council's Procurement Rules for
the provision of archaeology investigation to Oxford
Archaeology. The organisation has been selected to complete
the services due to their previous and ongoing knowledge of the
site and services to be provided. The previous contract we had
with Oxford Archaeology expired but was well within the agreed
budget as works had been paused from the A582 Dualing. The contract
is to be awarded for a period of up to 30 months commencing on 20
May 2024. The estimated value of the contract to be let under
a direct award is up to £5140.
