Lancashire County Council Cabinet approved the commencement of procurement exercises for electrical and mechanical consultancy, reactive and planned improvement works, real-time passenger information bus services and traffic light priority systems, and Lancashire domestic abuse support in safe accommodation and outreach services on 11 April 2024. The Cabinet also approved the approach to the allocation of the Household Support Fund, authorised the Director of Public Health, Wellbeing and Communities to approve final scheme details, and approved the establishment of up to 15 new residential children's homes, capital funding for these homes, and a review of the programme after the delivery of the first nine homes. Additionally, the Cabinet approved the approach to allocating and spending Childcare Expansion Capital Grant funding, added the grant to the capital programme and budget, approved the revenue grant and its allocation method, and authorised the Director of Education, Culture and Skills to agree grant award criteria. The Cabinet also approved the construction of a shared use cycletrack on Blackpool Road and the A585 in Kirkham, the installation of a quality bus stop and clearway on Lancaster Road in Preston, the revocation of four bus stop clearways and introduction of thirteen bus stop clearways on Bolton Road and Chorley Road, and the creation of a Special Educational Needs Unit at Flakefleet Primary School, Fleetwood, along with associated funding for alterations and resources. Funding for alterations and adaptations in SEND units at Chaucer Primary School and Morecambe Bay Primary School was approved, as was additional funding for capacity at The Loyne Specialist School and Mayfield Specialist School, and budget approval for phase 3 of Thornton Cleveleys Red Marsh School expansion and phase 2 of West Lancashire Community High School expansion. The Cabinet approved the permanent expansion of Archbishop Temple Church of England High School by 55 places and the capital allocation for this expansion, and approved the closure of Pinfold Primary School, Scarisbrick, and the expansion of Kingsbury Primary School onto a satellite site. Finally, the Cabinet approved a waiver of Procurement Rules for Tier 4 Residential Rehabilitation and Detoxification.
