Purpose

Lancashire County Council reviews its Home to School Transport
Policy on an annual basis. New guidance was issued by the
Department for Education on Home to School Transport for children
of compulsory school age in June 2023. Although there are no
changes to the statutory entitlement of pupils, the amended policy
reflects the Department for Education's recommendations that all
the information in relation to transport assistance is available to
parents in one document. The previous mainstream and Special
Educational Needs transport policies have therefore been
amalgamated, and additional information has been provided to
parents, to ensure transparency and understanding.

This
is deemed to be a Key Decision and the requirements of Standing
Order C18 have been complied with.
