Lancashire County Council Cabinet approved updated budget assumptions for 2024/25 and following years, agreed to consult stakeholders on savings proposals, and approved the contents of the council's reserves position on 18 January 2024. The Cabinet also approved the creation of 16 bus stops with clearway restrictions in Longridge, and approved the 2024/25 budgets for Early Years, High Needs, and Central Schools Services Blocks. Additionally, they approved capital allocations for school expansions and a new primary provision at Whittingham Hospital, and approved an in-house solution for processing separately collected food waste.
