Purpose

The purpose of this proposal is
to support the Town 2 Turf area improvement scheme, primarily the
route along Harry Potts Way and Yorkshire Street, between Turf Moor
football ground and Burnley Town Centre, which is proposed to be a
Restricted Parking Zone.

Other roads have been included
in this proposal for the facilitation of parking, loading and the
movement of vehicular traffic, as well as to tidy up the existing
orders of which restrictions overlap with those included in the
scheme.

This scheme is primarily an
amenity improvement scheme for the area between Turf Moor and
Burnley Town Centre and to improve pedestrian safety in this
area.

Consultations
Formal consultation was carried
out between 6 September-2024 and 4 October-2024 which included
frontagers to the proposed location of the Bus Stop being notified
and notices being displayed on site. Divisional county councillors
were consulted along with the council's usual consultees and the
consultation documents posted on the council's website.
During the formal consultation
it was brough to officer's attention that the Burnley area Permit
Parking Order made in 2015 contained an administrative error in the
eligibility for the Zone 7 Mansergh Street / Killington Street area
of Burnley.

Therefore, a modification was
carried out to define the exact residential address points that
were included in the original 2014 Order that brough the zone into
operation. Formal consultation for the modification was carried out
between 27 September-2024 and 18 October-2024.

Following the formal
consultation of both the proposals and the modification No
Objections were received.
