Purpose

Lancashire County Council currently has three contracts in place
for the Provision of Residual Waste Recovery/Disposal Services, all
of which were awarded to Lancashire Waste Recycling Limited in 2022
following a mini-competition from the now-expired framework for the
Provision of Residual Waste Recovery/Disposal Services let by
Lancashire County Council in 2018.
 
The
initial term for each contract commenced on 1 June 2022 and runs to
31 May 2025. All three contracts have the option to extend the
contract for a further period, or periods, up to a maximum of
24-months in addition to the initial term.
Lancashire County Council is looking to exercise the full 24
month extension on all three contracts to secure residual waste
recovery/disposal capacity to meet expected waste demands during
this time.
 
The
extension will run from 1 June 2025 to 31 May 2027, following which
no further extension is applicable.

Management, on behalf of the Andrew Mullaney, Director of Environment and Planning took
a decision to approve extension of three contracts for the
provision of Residual Waste Recovery/Disposal Services with
Lancashire Waste Recycling Limited from 01 June 2025 to 31 May 2027
as permitted in the current terms and conditions of the contracts,
of which the initial period is due to expire 31 May 2025. The
extension is compliant with procurement regulations.
