Purpose

On
the 7th March 2024, Cabinet approved a
total value of £2.8m, to be apportioned for Local
Deterioration Schemes, funded from the Department for Transport
Highway Maintenance Grant Award 2024/25:
£28.811million.

The LDF schemes in Appendix A have been prioritised by calculating
the number of repeated visits to fix defects at the same location.
The scheme size is generally under 2000m2, which equates to an
operational team conducting either one or two days resurfacing,
depending of the construction depth. This is to maximise efficiency
of the workforce. The funding apportionment is divided into
programme tranches throughout the year. Before each tranche is
released, new up to date data is used in the analysis, to ensure
roads that have deteriorated within year and over the winter period
are taken into consideration.
