Purpose

Wyre Council received a grant
to improve the amenities on parts of Victoria Road West, Princess
Road, Slinger Road, Rough Lea Road and North Promenade
Cleveleys.
 
The highway construction is due
to commence on 10th March 2025. Works will be carried out by
Highway Operations through a S278 Agreement with Wyre
Council.
 
The advance payment of fees and
the Section 278 Agreement provides a robust mechanism for the
County Council to ensure it is at no financial risk from carrying
out the design, construction and supervision of these
work.

Operations and Design, on behalf of Matt Townsend the Director of
Highways and Transport took a decision to bring monies, up to a
maximum amount of £385,000 into the Capital Programme to
cover the construction costs of the Cleveleys highway
works.
