Purpose
The proposals are being pursued as part of a
s278 Agreement under the Highways Act 1980 as part of development
related works which will introduce further traffic movements.
New accesses have been constructed onto
Rossendale Road, Burnley. To reduce the speed of vehicles
approaching the new junctions, the 30mph speed limit location
requires amending.
The purpose of this proposal is to revoke the
existing 40mph speed limit along Rossendale Road, reverting the
section of road between the new accesses to 30mph by virtue of
street lighting.
Consultations
Formal consultation was carried out between 10
January 2025 and 07 February 2025 which included advertising in the
local press and notices being displayed on site. Divisional county
councillors were consulted along with the council's usual
consultees and the consultation documents posted on the council's
website.
Following formal consultation No Objections
were received.
