Purpose
The purpose of the proposal is to remove the
Limited Waiting Bay on Union Road situated 24 metres south west of
Harvey Street and introduce No Waiting at Any Time restrictions.
The introduction of the double yellow lines will prohibit parking
within too close a proximity of the mini roundabout at the junction
with Harvey Street, ensuring the safe passage of public transport
and increasing visibility and improving sightlines for all road
users.
This proposal will introduce a new extent of
Limited Waiting 30 minutes, no return within 30 minutes, east of
the junction with Havelock Street at the location of the removed
bus stop clearway. The purpose of this proposal is to ensure there
is sufficient short-term parking for vehicles of road users seeking
to use the local businesses.
The proposed No Waiting at Any Time
restrictions on Union Road situated south west of Stone Bridge Lane
are intended to prohibit vehicles from parking in an obstructive
manner in and around the existing pedestrian crossing and encourage
use of the proposed Limited Waiting bay.
This proposal seeks to introduce No Waiting at
Any Time restrictions from St Pauls Primary School to Colliers
Street and around the junction of Frederick Street. The proposed
parking restrictions are to protect sight lines and reduce the
potential for accidents, improve general road safety for residents,
through traffic as well as parents and children using St Pauls
Primary School.
The proposal also seeks to amend the Traffic
Regulation Order to match the existing road markings already
historically in-situ, allowing for effective enforcement.
