Summary

...to approve the transfer of funds from the cancelled A6 Garstang Bypass Road Resurfacing and the closed 20/21 A581 Southport Road Inlay scheme to fund the additional £149,958 needed to complete the A565 Southport New Road Roundabout resurfacing.

Purpose

It is proposed to move s to complete a
resurfacing scheme on the A565 Southport New Road Roundabout. As it
currently stands there is £50,054k available to resurface the
roundabout, an additional £149,958 is needed to complete the
scheme due to the deterioration of the whole roundabout now needing
to be resurfaced. If this is not completed in the next few months
then a deeper resurfacing will be required, increasing the scheme
cost and traffic disruption time. Roadspace and resources are
booked for March to complete this scheme.

It is therefore suggested that the A6 Garstang
Bypass Road Resurfacing is cancelled (current S278 underway which
will impact the junction) and 20/21 A581 Southport Road Inlay
(duplicate scheme from 2020/21) is closed, and the fund transferred
as below into Southport New Road Roundabout resurfacing.

It is recommended that the transfer is
approved.
