Purpose

The
Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and Workwear Agreements are
currently accessed by a range of service areas within the Authority
including, Highways, Waste Management, Facilities Management,
Health and Safety, Care, Schools Catering, Cleaning and
Maintenance, and Accommodation Management Services. Highways and
Transport are the main stakeholder for this contract.
 
LCC ran
an above Threshold Open Tender Procedure compliant with PCR2015 to
tender for 6 PPE Lots and awarded contracts for 3 of the
Lots:
 
Lot 1:
Supply and Delivery of High Visibility and PPE Clothing
This
Lot was awarded to C R Safety and Consumables Ltd, to provide the
Hi-Vis items. The main users of these items are Highways and Waste
Management. Highways use the yellow hi-vis, however, during the
initial period of the contract Waste Management have transitioned
to Orange Hi vis items.
 
Lot 2 -
Supply and Delivery of Head, Eye, Ear and Respiratory
Protection
This
Lot was awarded to Arco Ltd. The main users of these items are
Highways and Waste Management.
 
Lot 4 -
Supply and Delivery of Workwear
This
Lot was awarded to Arden Winch and Co Ltd. These items are used by
Facilities Management, Older Peoples Services and Catering Services
mostly.
 
The
contracts commenced on the 1st October 2023 for all
three awarded Lots. All contracts were awarded for an initial term
of 2 years, with the option to extend for any number of periods up
to a further 2 years, provided the maximum term does not exceed
four years.
 
LCC is exercising the
permissible option to extend the contracts for the full extension
period of 2 years. The extension will run from 1st October 2025 to
30th September 2027.
