Purpose

Concerns have been raised by local residents
with regards to vehicles travelling at speeds in excess of the
designated 20mph speed limit along Duddle Lane.

To alleviate those concerns, it is proposed to introduce a series
of speed cushions to help slow down vehicles travelling through
Duddle Lane. Resurfacing and a refreshed centreline is also
proposed as part of the calming measures.

The proposals will aim to making a safer environment for all road
users and pedestrians.

Consultations
Formal consultation was carried out between 17 October 2025 and 14
November 2025 which included advertising in the local press and
notices being displayed on site. Divisional county councillors were
consulted along with the council's usual consultees and the
consultation documents posted on the council's website.

Following formal consultation one response was received. The main
points raised in the responses along with Officer comments are
outlines in Appendix C.
