Purpose
It is proposed to make changes to the Cabinet portfolio responsibilities following the establishment of a new role of Cabinet Member for Civic Pride and the combining of the roles of Cabinet Member for Resources, HR and Property and Cabinet Member for Data, Technology, Customer and Efficiency into a new role of Cabinet Member for Resources, Property and Efficiency. It is also proposed to make changes to the Lead Members roles and postholders.
Decision
The Leader of the County Council approved:
(i) The revised Cabinet portfolio titles and responsibilities as set out at Appendix 'A' of the report.
(ii) The establishment of the role of Lead Member for Resources, Property and Efficiency and the appointment of County Councillor Hannah Whalley to that role.
(iii) The continuation of the role of Lead Member for Health and the appointment of County Councillor Dr Lorenzo More to that role.
(iv) The establishment of the role of Lead Member for Education and Social Care and the appointment of County Councillor Martyn Sutton to that role.
(v) The establishment of the role of Lead Member for Growth, Technology and Efficiency and the appointment of County Councillor Luke Parker to that role.
(vi) The continuation of the role of Lead Member for Highways and Transport and that County Councillor John Clemson continue in that role.
(vii) That all other Lead Member roles be disestablished to be replaced by the Lead Member roles set out in recommendations (ii) to (vi).
This decision be implemented immediately for the purposes of Standing Order C28(3) as any delay could adversely affect the execution of the County Council's responsibilities. The reason for this is to ensure the changes are made immediately in advance of the next Cabinet meeting.
