Purpose

The Annual Report of the Director of Public Health is a statutory requirement and provides an independent assessment of the health of Lancashire’s population and the actions required to improve health and reduce inequalities.

The 2025/26 report sets out why Lancashire is at a pivotal moment for health, wellbeing and prosperity, highlights progress made towards prevention, equity, and place?based working, and identifies the system?level changes now required to address persistent inequalities, rising long?term sickness, population ageing, and avoidable early deaths.
