Purpose

Cabinet authorised the making of a Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) and Side Roads Order (SRO) and associated documents relating to the A582 Croston Road Junction Improvements in March 2026.

In accordance with Recommendation (iv) the Director of Highways and Transport, after consultation with the Director of Growth and Property and Director of Law and Governance, is authorised to take all the necessary steps to secure the making, confirmation and implementation of the Orders, including the preparation and service of all notices, and the presentation of the Council's case at any Public Inquiry.

In accordance with Recommendation (vii) the Director of Growth and Property has given consent to make minor amendments and changes of ownership as he considered appropriate on advice to the draft CPO and SRO or their Plans or Statements of Reasons. The Director of Growth and Property has also agreed with the making, confirmation and implementation of the Orders, including the preparation and service of all notices, and the presentation of the Council's case at any Public Inquiry.

Matt Townsend, Director of Highways and Transport, took a decision to approve the Lancashire County Council (A582 Croston Road Junction Improvements) Compulsory Purchase Order 2026 and Side Roads Order 2026.
