Purpose

This report presents an application from a local organisation requesting £2000.00 towards external play equipment, ideally a group swing to go on the school playing area from the Local Member Grants Scheme.

Decision

County Councillor Fion a Duke considered and approved a Local Member Grant for the reduced amount of £200 to Our Lady and St Edward’s Catholic Primary School Parent Teacher Association towards the cost of external play equipment, ideally a group swing to go on the school playing area.

The reason for the reduction is that she would like to use the members grant funding across a range of initiatives in Preston North on initiatives that are accessible to all. Given that the swing provides SEND children an additional resource, she is happy to make a partial contribution in this case.
