Purpose

The proposals are being pursued as part of a Section 278 agreement under the Highways Act 1980. These proposals are being funded fully by the developer and are linked to the new Police Station development and associated planning conditions.

The purpose of the Bus Stops clearway is to support the upgrade of the existing bus stops to a quality bus stops. This is to allow the buses to pull in and out safely and allow effective enforcement. A raised boarding platform will also be installed to ensure safe boarding and alighting of mobility impaired passengers and ensure the bus stops are fully mobility compliant.

Consultations
For Bus Stops - Formal consultation was carried out between 10th March-2026 until 07th April-2026 which included frontagers to the proposed location of the Bus Stop being notified and notices being displayed on site. Divisional county councillors were consulted along with the council's usual consultees.

Following formal consultation No Objections were received.

Decision
