Purpose

This report presents an application from an organisation requesting £300 towards the filling of the Bridal way Potholes from the Champion for Rural Affairs the Agricultural Community and Parishes budget.

Decision

The Head of Governance and Democratic Services, following consultation with County Councillor James Tomlinson, Champion for Rural Affairs, the Agricultural Community & Parishes, rejected a Champions Grant application to Salesbury Parish Council towards the cost of repairs to potholes on a bridle way.

The reason for the rejection was it does not meet the requirements of the grant scheme because awarding money to fill potholes would be contrary to county council policies and we cannot award grant funding for external organisations to carry out that which is the statutory responsibility of the council.
