Purpose

These proposals form part of the Levelling Up East Lancashire project. They aim to deliver improvements in local neighbourhoods through:

• Improving local streets with better connections through new or improved crossing facilities and pathways.
• Enhancing streets and public spaces with new planting and seating.
• Creating safer street environments that makes it easier for people to walk, cycle or wheel to local places.
• Improving facilities at local parks and providing new public green spaces.
• Improving road safety by discouraging pavement parking at junctions,
• Improving sight lines for people trying to cross the road and reducing traffic speeds.

Speed humps and raised junction tables to reduce vehicle speeds and improve road safety particularly for pedestrians and vulnerable road users.





Consultations
Formal consultation was carried out between 10/07/2026 and 14/08/2026which included advertising in the local press and notices being displayed on site. Divisional county councillors were consulted along with the council's usual consultees and the consultation documents posted on the council's website. Following formal consultation No Objections were received.


A Modification was carried out between 17/07/2026 and 14/08/2026 No Objections were received

 

Decision

Peter Bell, Highway Regulation Manager, has taken a decision to approve the (Halifax Road Area, Brierfield, Pendle Borough) (Road HUMPS) Legal Reference: LSG4/104991/AFR.
