The purpose of this proposal is to introduce traffic controls that are considered appropriate to assist in the avoidance of danger to persons or other traffic using these roads or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising and to facilitate the safe passage on these roads of any class of traffic, including pedestrians.

We were contacted by a local Councillors with concerns regarding vehicles parking on and near the junction to visit the shop and post office causing a site line issue to vehicles exiting and entering Royalty Lane.

• Station Lane, Barton NEW

The purpose of this proposal is to alleviate the concerns raised, it is proposed to introduce No Waiting At Any Time restrictions in two areas to prohibit obstructive parking, allowing the free movement of traffic and improving the general road safety for all highway users.
Concerns had been raised regarding vehicles parking on Station Lane causing sight line issues and narrowing of the road.

• Wellfield Road, Preston NEW

The purpose of this proposal is to provide a dedicated on-street disabled parking bay to assist a resident who meets the eligibility criteria for a Blue Badge and has demonstrated a significant mobility impairment. The bay will be located as close as practicable to the applicant’s home to reduce the distance they must travel between their vehicle and property.

This measure aims to:
• Improve accessibility and independence for the applicant.
• Ensure safe and convenient parking for a Blue Badge holder in an area where parking demand is high.
• Support the council’s commitment to equality and inclusion for residents with disabilities.

• Pole Street, Preston EXISTING

The purpose of this proposal is to formalise the NWAAT parking restriction in place on Pole Street.
Our parking services team made us aware that the parking restrictions on Pole Street had no TRO on them therefore we are formalising the restrictions that are in place in this location.

• Parkgate Drive, Leyland NEW

The purpose of this proposal is to introduce traffic controls that are considered appropriate to assist in the avoidance of danger to persons or other traffic using these roads or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising and to facilitate the safe passage on these roads of any class of traffic, including pedestrians.
We were contacted by a resident with concerns regarding vehicles parking in the turning head at the end of Parkgate Drive preventing road users from being able to turn around.

• Back Withy Grove, Bamber Bridge NEW

Residents have raised concerns regarding obstructive parking taking place at the access point to the rear of Properties 15 to 37. Such parking has been observed to restrict access for residents, visitors, service vehicles, and emergency services, and has the potential to impede the safe and efficient use of the highway.

The purpose of the proposal is to introduce traffic restrictions that are considered necessary to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road, to prevent the likelihood of such danger arising, and to facilitate the safe passage of traffic, including pedestrians.

Consultations
Formal consultation was carried out between 24/07/2026 and 21/08/2026 which included advertising in the local press and notices being displayed on site. Divisional county councillors were consulted along with the council's usual consultees and the consultation documents posted on the council's website.

Following formal consultation No Objections were received.
