Purpose

This proposal intends to correct an anomaly in the existing Traffic Regulation Order regarding the stated road names.

It thereby aims to confirm the existing 7.5t weight restriction and ensure effective enforcement.

REASONS UNDER Section 1 of the RTRA

(a) for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.

(c) for preventing the use of the road by vehicular traffic of a kind which, or its use by vehicular traffic in a manner which, is unsuitable having regard to the existing character of the road or adjoining property.




Consultations
Formal consultation was carried out between 24th July 2026 and 21st August 2026 which included advertising in the local press and notices being displayed on site. Divisional county councillors were consulted along with the council's usual consultees and the consultation documents posted on the council's website.


Following formal consultation No Objections were received.



 

Decision

Peter Bell, Highway Regulation Manager has taken a decision to approve the Lancashire County Council (Elton Road And Grane Road, Hyndburn And Rossendale Boroughs) (Revocation And 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 202*.
