The Children, Families and Skills Scrutiny Committee approved recommendations on school place planning and school transport on 20/09/2023. The committee agreed to conduct work on school place planning distortions, review school transport procurement for environmental issues, and foster closer working relationships between school transport and planning teams. They also recommended considering the reinstatement of the Safer Travel Unit and ensuring safer routes are assessed for school transport eligibility.
