The Development Control Committee approved the planning application for a new railway station at Cottam on 06/09/2023. The decision included the construction of a station building, platforms, footbridge, parking, a new highway access road, a bus gate, conversion of Sidgreaves Lane to a cycle and pedestrian track, a new bridge over the Lancaster canal, diversion of a public right of way, a water attenuation pond, secondary means of escape, and landscape and ecological mitigation areas.
