Purpose

This proposal seeks to supplement the Fleet
replacement programme by initially extending the lives of 33
minibuses (3 to be earmarked as spares to cover the downtime
resulting from inspections and repairs to the 30) through an
average investment programme of £27.3k (for major repairs,
£900k in total) for each vehicle which will be funded by
dropping existing spend on vehicle hire and deliver net savings of
£500k as part of the 2025/26 budget strategy.
