Purpose

Brief Description

The current Community
Based Short Breaks Service contract ends 31st March
2025. Approval is requested to modify the Interim Home Care
contract to incorporate the Community Based Short Breaks Service to
ensure that the service continues to be available.

This is currently a
citywide service so this will not change.

Financial and
procurement implications

This modification will
enable the continuation of the current provision in a more
equitable and managed way. Prior to implementing, a modification
notice will be published on the Find a Tender Service. The value of
the modification will be up to a maximum of £2.4m transferred
from the Community Based Short Breaks budget.

The Director of Adults and Health
has –  
a. 
approved the
modification of the Interim Homecare Contract to incorporate the
CBSB service as a separate Lot. The indicative value of will be
approximately £1.2m annually based on current demand. The
agreement will be for the period of
1st
April 2025 to
31st
March 2027 plus any
subsequent extension periods
as detailed in the Interim Homecare
Contract.  
 
b. 
Approved a new rate
for the short breaks service at £22.88 (subject to annual
uplift) and the freezing of the sitting service rate paid to all
off contract providers until the two rates align.
