Purpose

A Memorandum of Understanding is being agreed with Home Office
to secure a regional transitional accommodation site with for the
Afghan Resettlement Programme (ARP), for up to 150 arrivals, the
agreement will encompass both the provision of accommodation and
support for the cohort. We are seeking to enter a contract with
Park Lane Properties to secure a transitional accommodation site of
up to 109 rooms for 12 months period to support the ARP which will
provide accommodation to Afghan Families for periods of up to 9
months to support arrivals “successful” integration
into settled accommodation across the region.

The Director of Communities,
Housing and Environment has:
 

a) 
Approved the decision to enter a Memorandum of
Understanding with the UK Government to provide a regional
transition accommodation site for the Afghan resettlement
programme, as set out in Appendix A up until 31st March
2026.

 

b) 
Approved the decision to secure a transitional
accommodation site for the Afghan Resettlement cohort by directly
awarding a contract to Roomzzz Limited.
The Contract shall commence on 22 April 2025 for a rolling period
until either party seeks to terminate. The estimated value of this
direct award is £3,000,000.
