Leeds Housing Options: Temporary Accommodation Contract

Purpose
The Council must fulfil its statutory
homelessness duties. In the current national and local context for
homelessness, the number of households who require temporary
accommodation is increasing, with the total numbers being placed in
Leeds continually rising. It is important that the Council urgently
enters into a contract to secure the use of the proposed temporary
accommodation for all the reasons set out within the report.
Content
a) That the Director of
Communities, Housing and Environments approved the commitment of
£670,000 to enter a contracted partnership with Holiday Inn
for 6 months, with two further potential 6 month extensions
(totalling up to £2.1m if all extension provisions
implemented).
b) That the Director of
Communities, Housing and Environments approved signing a contract
and committing funds with Holiday Inn as a direct award in
accordance with The Procurement Act 2023 justifications in Schedule
5 for the reasons set out in section 22 of this report.
