Purpose
The Leeds Economic Vision sets
out the council’s approach to delivering economic growth.
This paper highlights areas of delivery including spatial
regeneration and housing, sector development and business support,
and infrastructure including transport infrastructure.
Central to the delivery of the
Vision and with support from government, is the Leeds
Transformational Regeneration and South Bank as a potential New
Town.
This paper provides an update
on progress on the plans to grow the city centre to create new
housing and jobs, and seeks specific approvals to:

Progress activity to bring forward the Leeds City
Fund

Support the Council’s work to provide a
financial contribution to the Royal Armouries Conference and
Exhibition Centre

Reaffirm the Council’s support for securing
the reuse of Temple Works
-
Support the city’s shortlisting of the New
Town Designation and continuing work with the Government in shaping
the City’s proposition

Accept funding from the West Yorkshire Combined
Authority to support service delivery.
