Purpose

The decision is to determine whether the
Council should progress with the Department for Education’s
approved SEMH Free School proposal or alternatively accept an offer
of capital grant funding to deliver equivalent SEMH places within
local education settings across the city.
The decision is required to enable the Council
to respond formally to the Department for Education within the
required timeframe and to ensure sufficient specialist provision is
delivered to meet identified need.
