Greenspace Developments and Opportunities
February 11, 2026 Executive Board (Committee) Key decision Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
The Council has introduced a range of new
leisure and recreation opportunities across its green spaces and
parks, which either enhance the current offer or provide new
facilities as well as generating additional revenue to support the
delivery of services. These have ranged from improvements at
Wildlife World at Lotherton Hall, new indoor and outdoor adventure
playgrounds, and a new festival in Roundhay Park.
Additional opportunities are also being
explored such as enhancing the Tea Rooms and bungalow at Golden
Acre Park to increase capacity and provide space for commercial
bookings.
Tropical World, as a successful and popular
visitor attraction within Roundhay Park provides another
opportunity for exploring development potential to generate
revenue, enhance the visitor experience and contribute further to
increase the leisure offering within Leeds.
