Purpose

The Director of City Development is requested
to authorise expenditure to complete works on Phase 1 and carry out
the second and final phase of construction on the 1875 Blockshops
at Kirkgate Market.

Content

The Director of City Development has
authorised total expenditure of £7,763,500. This consists of
£1,640,000 for the retrospective fee approvals, essential
variations and other costs required to complete phase 1, and
£6,123,500 for phase 2 fees and costs including the tender
sum of £5,387,000 submitted by Bermar Building Co Ltd. Works
funded from existing budget provision (capital scheme 33077).
