Purpose
The council’s current contracts for the
supply of personal protective equipment (PPE), workwear and
uniforms are due to expire on 10th April 2024. Approval will
therefore be sought to procure new contracts for the supply of
these goods beyond the above date. It is anticipated that the
procurement will be in two lots, one for PPE and one for workwear
and uniforms.
The current contracts provide
essential PPE and workwear for LCC employees, having numerous
companies on contract ensures availability of products of the
required quality at competitive prices.
There is a statutory
requirement for the Council to provide PPE to its employees under
the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
Currently three providers of
PPE and workwear are being used, these are Direct Corporate
