The Chief Officer, Culture and Economy has
approved minor alterations to the Council’s Discretionary
Business Rate Relief Scheme:

1. To amend priority applicants to the Council’s
discretionary business rate relief scheme to include childcare
nurseries.
2. To cap the maximum rate relief provided to exceptional cases to
50% of annual business rates subject to subsidy control limits. To
retain discretion to issue further top-up relief where this is
deemed necessary to attract or retain critical business
investment.
3. To open the FY2023/24 Scheme to new applicants by the 1st
October 2023.
