Purpose

The LAHF is a £500m capital grant fund to support local authorities in England to provide sustainable housing for those unable to secure their own accommodation funded via the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC).

Decision

The Chief Housing Officer:

a) Gave approval to the Council’s plan to provide 30 homes under the Local Authority Housing Fund and to accept the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) grant of £3,329,406 which will part fund the acquisition costs.

b) Gave approval for 21 properties being purchased and allocated to Ukrainian refugee households

c) Gave approval for 9 properties to be allocated to Afghan households currently in bridging accommodation

d) Approved the injection and approved Authority to Spend for a total of £7.521M into the HRA Council House Growth capital programme for the two schemes.
