Purpose

Brief
Description

Since 2017 Leeds City
Council and Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust have been jointly
providing short term recovery and rehabilitation beds (Recovery
Hubs) based in three LCC care home locations. These services are
provided city wide and as part of a contract with the Integrated
Commissioning Board (ICB). The wider short term recovery and
rehabilitation beds contract has been reviewed and a new service
specification has been developed by the ICB. The tender process for
the new Community Care bed contract will commence on 10.06.24 with
a submission date of 26.07.24. This report seeks permission from
the Director of Adults and Health jointly bid for the
contract.

Content

The Director of Adults and
Health has –
 
a) 
Granted approval for Leeds City Council's Adults and
Health Directorate to respond to the Integrated Care Board
Short-term Community Beds in Leeds tender process in partnership
with Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust.
 
b) 
Noted that - due to the current budget value of the
current Short Term Community Beds (Recovery Hubs) and potential
future significant value / income, this is a Key Decision and any
update reports on the outcome of the bid submission, will be direct
consequences of this key decision.
 
c) 
Noted that - the Deputy Director for Social Work and
Social Care Services will be
responsible for implementation.
