That the following
approach be approved and adhered to by the Council when working
with charities who are actively fundraising for music education
charities in the County:
1. Obtain
assurances from the charity that:
a)
It has followed its internal governance procedure and has obtained
all necessary approval(s) to proceed prior to entering into a
funding agreement with the Council;
b)
That the charity has no conflict of interest issues in respect of
the proposed arrangement; and
c)
Any funding provided by the charity to Lincolnshire Music Service
will comply with the charity’s aims and objectives.
2. Legal Services
Lincolnshire to review the draft funding arrangement prior to it
being entered into by the parties.
The recommendation
outlined above has been confirmed as good practice following a
meeting with Charity Law Experts (Bates & Wells) attended by
Lincolnshire Music Service and the Legal Services Lincolnshire.
