CONSIDERED the comments from the Scrutiny
Committee and Full Council meetings held on 30 October and 6 November
respectively, in relation to the draft submission proposal for Local Government
Reorganisation (LGR) within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
2)
NOTED the changes identified thus far
being made to the draft submission and summarised in Appendix D and acknowledge
that further amendments may be required arising from feedback received from any
remaining meetings at partner councils, or that may be necessary to secure
agreement across all 8 councils prior to finalisation.
3)
Further to 2.1 and 2.2, APPROVED
submission of the proposal for a three unitary LGR model in Leicester,
Leicestershire and Rutland (known locally as ‘North, City, South’).
4) DELEGATED
AUTHORITY to the Chief Executive, in consultation with the Leader of the
Council, to continue working with the other SEVEN councils, to agree and
finalise the document and then submit the final proposal to the Secretary of
State for Housing, Communities and Local Government prior to the 28 November
2025 deadline.
