Decision
That Cabinet:
1) CONSIDERED the draft Cultural Audit and Framework, which is proposed as the Council’s strategic framework for culture-led place development across the borough.
2) NOTED the Conservation Area Appraisal as an evidence-based assessment of the conservation area's special historic and architectural character, which supports the Council’s wider place development work.
3) RECOMMENDED TO COUNCIL that:
- 1) The draft Cultural Framework is adopted as the Council’s Strategic Framework for culture-led place development across the Borough.
- 2) Authority is delegated to the Director for Place and Prosperity, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Planning Policy, Economic Growth and Town Centre, to make any final amendments to the Cultural Framework and Conservation Area Appraisal prior to publication on the Council’s website.
- 3) It endorses the principle of progressing these activities as a single coordinated Culture, Heritage and Place Development Programme, subject to proportionate delivery, available resources and consideration of Local Government Reorganisation.
