Decision
That Cabinet:
1) APPROVED the proposed 20-year extension of the Northern Livestock Market lease for the period 2037 to 2057, subject to completion of the Deed of Variation and finalisation of detailed lease terms.
2) DELEGATED AUTHORITY to the Director for Place and Prosperity, in consultation with the Leader of the Council, the Portfolio Holder for Corporate Property and Finance, the Section 151 Officer and the Monitoring Officer, to finalise and complete the lease extension documentation and any associated legal agreements.
3) NOTED the strategic, operational, and economic benefits associated with providing long-term security of tenure for the existing operator and the potential for further investment in the site.
4) NOTED that members will be informed once the Deed of Variation has been completed through the Council’s standard operating process.
