Decision

The Cabinet had before it a report * from the Head of People, Performance and Waste and the Operation Manager for Street Scene and Open Spaces on the future and the potential to add additional recycling streams.

RESOLVED that the following recommendations from the Service Delivery and Continuous Improvement PDG made on 23 March 2026 be APPROVED:

1. Include metal food baking and serving trays as part of the collection of unusable metal pots and pans.

1. Prioritise future pilots of new recycling collections once the reconfiguration of the depot has been completed.

1. Support the steps detailed in this paper to reinvigorate resident focus on recycling and give feedback on the proposed interventions that would assist this (as well as give alternative suggestions).

1. To consider the potential implications of ceasing side waste collections during peak periods of the year.
