RESOLVED:
1. That this
Council:
(a)
pays tribute to the consistently high performance of our waste
collection teams and the officers who manage the contract with
Suez;
(b) regrets
therefore the evidenced lack of cooperation on the part of some
management companies of flats whose inaction causes waste to build
up uncollected until it overflows onto a carpark or pavement;
(c)
believes that this is both an eyesore and a health risk, and
therefore:
(i) asks the Cabinet and Chief
Executive to continue working proactively to require management
companies to fulfil their responsibilities; and
(ii)
not to hesitate to use such environmental and enforcement powers as
the Council has in order to end the
build up waste in this
way.”
