Purpose

To consider approving the direct award of the
contract to supply low carbon heat to Authority
buildings.

Content

1.        
That the public and press be excluded from the meeting by virtue of
Paragraph 3 (Information relating to the Business Affairs of the
Authority) of Part I of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act
1972, in order that the meeting consider exempt Annex A to the
report.

2.        
That the
direct award of a ten-year contract to Milton Keynes Energy Limited
(MKEL) for the heat network
supply to Council buildings namely,
Civic, Central Library
and Woughton Leisure Centre,
be approved. 

3.        
That authority be
delegated to the Director of Environment and Property, in
consultation with the Cabinet member for Planning and Placemaking
and the Director of Law and Governance and Director of Finance and
Resources, to:

(a)        agree the
appropriate length of the contract and approve the final contract
terms for execution; and

(b)      
approve any other necessary
documentation that is required to give effect to the decisions
contained within this report.
