Purpose
To consider amending the existing Public Space
Protection Order (PSPO) to further address anti-social use of
vehicles, including car cruising, and to extend its duration until
January 2029.
Content
1. That the
Public Space Protection Order that is currently in place for
vehicle related anti-social behaviour be extended for a period of
three years, under section 60 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime
and Policing Act 2014.
2. That the
Public Space Protection Order be amended to include additional
activities namely parking and exiting a motor vehicle whilst left
in a non-designated parking space at a car cruise; and shouting,
swearing, abusing or otherwise intimidating another person at a car
cruise.
3. That
vehicle related anti-social behaviour is, or is likely to be, of a
persistent nature, is or is likely to be unreasonable and justifies
the restrictions imposed by the revised notice found in Annex B to
the report.
