Purpose

To consider approving an extension of existing
one-off support funding for recovering bus services from 31
December 2023 to 31 July 2024.

Content

1.1 That the public and press be excluded from the meeting
by virtue of Paragraph 3 (Information relating to the Financial or
Business Affairs of the Authority) of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the
Local Government Act 1792, in order that the meeting may consider
the Confidential Annexure A of the report.
1.2 That one-off support funding provided to specific
at-risk services, as set out in section 3.5 of this report, be
extended to run until end of July 2024 (an additional 7 months) via
the use of available grant funding.
1.3 That the use of subsidy and compliance with subsidy
control legislation, be agreed and noted.
1.4 That the marketing campaign to raise awareness of the
at-risk status of the services and to encourage patronage to
attempt to make these services commercially sustainable, be
continued.
1.5 That authority be delegated to the Director Environment
& Property to finalise the
arrangements for allocating the short-term funding to operators to
support the listed “at risk” services until the end of
July 2024.
