Purpose

To consider approving the Council’s
revised Policy relating to the Regulation of Investigatory Powers
Act 2000.

Content

1.        
That the
Council’s policy on the use of surveillance powers under the
Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (RIPA) bereviewed and
approved (attached at Annex A to
the report).

2.        
That authority be
delegated to the Director of Law and Governance to
make:

(a)        amendments
required by legislation prior to annual review; and

(b)      
other minor amendments.
