1.            
That the Chief Executive of SEMLEP be thanked for her attendance at
the meeting and her contributions to the Committee’s
consideration of this item.

2.            
That the Council’s Director of Planning and Placemaking and
the Head of Economic Development be thanked for their report and
contributions to the Committee’s consideration of this
item.

3.            
That once there is more detail available, proposals for the future
of SEMLEP or a successor organisation be brought back to the
Committee for further scrutiny and comment.

4.            
That the Committee shares the Cabinet’s disappointment with
the possible reduced level of service proposed for the East-West
Rail link and supports any efforts by the Council to negotiate a
solution that will deliver the both the economic and climate/ green
benefits to Milton Keynes promised in the original proposals.

5.            
That the Council explores ways in which pressure could be brought
to bear on EWR in order to either
receive the assurances it seeks that the EWR can deliver on its
promises or that a reduced level of service will still be
sufficient to meet the needs of Milton Keynes.
