Decision

1. That the commencement of procurement processes for the demolition of the Brunel Centre, the former Wilko building and all associated enabling works, be agreed, via further competition under Procure Public Demolition and Enabling Works Framework, including:

(a)        demolition contractor(s);

(b)       soft strip contractor(s); and

(c)        asbestos removal contractor(s).

1. That authority be delegated to the Director Environment and Property, in consultation with the Cabinet member for Housing and the Assistant Director of Finance, to make the arrangements required to award the contract/s, for demolition, soft strip and asbestos removal following the procurement process or processes. It is estimated that the individual contracts will be less than £1 million in value each but have a combined total of around £1.3 million.
