Purpose

To consider approving the commencement of a
tender exercise and award of contract for the capital work involved
in the expansion of the existing cemetery into an adjacent
site.

Content

1.         That
Milton Keynes City Council expands the existing Wolverton Cemetery
in accordance with the planning permission already
secured.   

2.         That
authority be delegated to the Director of Customer and Community
Services, in consultation with the Cabinet member for Regulatory
Services, to make the final arrangements for the expansion of the
existing cemetery including: 

(a)        to appoint our
current professional services team to develop the detailed
programme, tender pack and supervise the works on site for this
project; 

(b)       to obtain tenders,
through the open market via an open tender or appropriate
framework; and 

(c)        to award the
contract for this scheme following completion of the
Council’s tender and evaluation process.
