The Sub-Committee carefully considered all the evidence
before it, including the written submission from the applicant and
the comments from the Highways Traffic Development
Manager.
It noted that there had been insufficient evidence of
previous and current issues in terms of road safety at the location
and whilst the reasons for feeling potential hazards should be
minimised, it had felt that there was no evidence to refuse the
consent as this was a permitted consent street.
It was recommended that the Highways Traffic Development
Manager investigate the requirement to extend the double yellow
lines from the junction concerned and report his findings to the
Senior Licensing Officer.
If the double yellow lines were extended, the Senior
Licensing Officer would advise the trader to submit an application
to move to another part of Maidstone Road.
The Sub-Committee resolved that the application be granted
for twelve months from the date of expiry of the previous
consent.
